ROH review... I hope -April 12th 2010

Okay guys, I have been trying to get my hands on copies of Ring Of Honor stuff. For those of you- my Spudguns who read this on a regular basis, you know I do not have cable. Everything I get is off the internet. Mostly iTunes Canada.
I know that ROH was being shown online every week, but for whatever reason, my "region" wasn't able to get it. Many times I would find something only to get a message that said "that product is not supported in your region" or worse still "item you are trying to view has been removed for copyright reasons"
Well, I think that enough people must have complained or just you know broke rules or something because Oh My God! I got to watch the ROH episode for this past week on youtube

So here we go with my first ROH review... I hope. ROH April 12th 2010
*It seems this is right after the latest ROH ppv and we have Tyler Black still the champ.

*Jerry Lynn vs Jake Maning (his name never came up so forgive me if I'm wrong) Jake kicked Lynn, going for a off the ropes shoulder block before Lynn turned it around landing one on him. Lynn then slapped on a side headlock, and a hip toss. He then started to work on the arm of Maning, going for a cover but only got a two count before Maning kicked out. Lynn was then backed into the corner but spun out of the way, reversing it on him. Maning then slammed him down hard on the top rope across his neck. Maning continued then to work on the injured neck but Lynn got a near fall with what looked like a standing crossbody. Maning then used a jawbreaker before applying a submission move craning the neck of Lynn. Maning went for a top rope move but Lynn pulled a hurricanrana followed by a series of clotheslines. Lynn finished it off with a piledriver for the win.

*Steve Cornio... damn sorry drooling again. But damn! I keep forgetting he's Canadian. He went up against El Generico . Or I should say, he trashed mouthed El Generico who ripped the clothes off Cornio... sorry got distracted. What? I'm a Cornio fan from back in ECW okay.

*Kevin Steen vs Eddie Edwards. Steen kicked him in the elbow before backing him into the corner, continuing to lay down forearms and punches. He then sent Edwards out to the floor, continuing to work on the injured arm. He threw him back into the ring to brake the count, but Edwards used a suicide dive knocking him down. Steen was sent hard into the rails before Edwards gave him a large boot to the jaw. Steen got the advantage once again, by dragging Edwards to the ring apron and slamming his arm hard into the ring post. He then used a steel chair against the post sandwiching the arm. Back in the ring now and Steen had him in the middle with an armlock. Edwards battled out with a series of headbutts and a armdrag hiptoss. Edwards followed that up with a kick to the skull and a headscissors take over. Steen went for a top rope swan dive but only got a two count. They started to trade blows then for a few minutes but Edwards used a suplex for the advantage. Edwards sent Steen over with a large flip, clothesline and a sit down powerbomb. Steen came back to once again work on the elbow, but Edwards went off the top rope with a flying codebreaker. Only got a two count. Steen went for a powerbomb but only had a two count. Steen then headed up to the top turnbuckle but was caught up with a kick to the side of the skull which rocked him, but somehow came back and slapped on a crossface. Edwards used a small package for the win.

Okay, I wish I could say this will be a new weekly column, but the best I can do is say, I'll do my best. But I will be doing a ROH review as often as I can.

Profile on Necro Butcher

One of the biggest names in JCW, the Necro Butcher made the crossover from Indie wrestling to mainstream with his recent role in the movie the "Wrestler".

In the late 1990's, he worked the Texas circuit as "Private Dylan Summers" but changed his name shortly after that to Necro Butcher, where he won his first hardcore belt for IHW HARDCORE. He also worked for TCW, IWA-MIDSOUTH, (where he won the belt in 2007) COMBAT ZONE WRESTLING (CZW), FULL IMPACT PRO (FIP) and RING OF HONOR (ROH).
Some of his titles include : CTPW Tag Team Championship, CWA Hardcore Championship, JCW Tag Team Championship, among others.
Necro Butcher was also awarded Wrestling Observer Newsletter's 2008 Best Brawler award.

He's most known to Insane Clown Posse fans as one half of the Juggalo Championshit Wrestling tag team which he held with Mad Man Pondo.
He is one of the kings of hardcore style wrestling, with a gimmick of being a "little rough around the edges". The members of the ICP who do announcing for JCW's Slam TV, always seemed to draw attention to the look Necro Butcher had with references to the fact he wrestled shoeless and the wildness of his beard.

Profile on Jamie Noble

Since Jamie Noble is in the news this week, we decided to do our first profile on him (stay tuned A.J. Style fans we know you've been waiting but...)

Before becoming the mid-card jobber to some of WWE's most brutal wrestlers, Jamie Noble was a top player.

In fact, I remember him as being one hell of a wrestler in WCW's Cruiser Weight division back in late 1999/early 2000 as Jamie-San, the masked member of Jung Dragons (with Kaz Hayashi and Jimmy Yang) and having a beauty of a feud with 3Count (a boy band no less).

Others will remember his credits to include the Cruiser Weight Championship in 2002 when he first joined WWE. He made a great Heel back then didn't he.

During a short time away from the WWE, Jamie Noble wrestled for Ring of Honor (ROH) where he won the ROH World Championship as Jamie Gibson (2005)

In late 2005, Noble returned to WWE as part of another tag team the Pit Bulls, which had a limited story angle before casting Noble into what has become a string of mid-card placing and bad gimmicks.

In early 2009, Jamie Noble suffered a neck injury at the hands of Mike Knox, the first of two semi-severe injuries, the other being most recently at the hands of Sheamus. This was the deciding factor for Noble's retirement from wrestling.

Jamie Noble has been a fan favourite over the last 14 or so years wither he was Heel or Face, a singles wrestler or tag team member.

Is Jimmy Jacobs the next big thing?

I like to think that he is.

If you are a fan of JCW then you know who I am taking about.

This is a wrestler who has the creative guts to do almost anything in the ring as far as character development goes. So why isn't he more well known?

I have no idea.

I happen to think he's a decent pure wrestler and would be an interesting addition to the X-Division. TNA needs to grab him up if they haven't already.

Since I have only seen his stuff in JCW and ROH ,I am thinking TNA still needs to grab him up.

That's the view from my seat and I've said it.

Resistance is futile.

So the fans are in a furry because of the stuff we are hearing in regards to TNA.

Scandals, Firings, Backstabbing and some Legit Heats (? really now ? )

Here is my two cents worth. It's all going to pop like a micorwavable dinner you forgot to remove the lid from.

Yes I said it.

Then the fans will turn to the next big thing. Which is ROH.

Now, we don't get ROH here (unless you have a dish which no one on staff here does) so we can only see what is posted on the internet. Kinda sucks when you think about it.

But that is where the fresh batch of talent is right now, and where most of our heroes are hanging out anyway in between their TNA/JCW stuff.

So my thoughts right now is expect ROH 's stocks to flyer then an 8 foot frogsplash.
